*★ Lessons from the Book of Ruth – 6*
_*“Boaz: A Foreshadow of Christ the Redeemer”*_
(Ruth 4)
In the final chapter of Ruth, we see a beautiful picture of redemption. Boaz, a kind and noble man, was willing to pay the price to redeem Ruth and Naomi’s family line. His act of righteousness and kindness points us to an even greater Redeemer — the Lord Jesus Christ.
Boaz redeemed with an earthly payment, but Jesus Christ redeemed us with something infinitely greater — His own precious blood. Boaz gave his shoe to seal the agreement, but Jesus gave His own life to redeem us from sin. Boaz redeemed one household, but Jesus Christ is the Redeemer of the whole world.
Just as Ruth could not redeem herself, we also cannot save ourselves from our sins. Redemption requires a Redeemer — someone willing, able, and worthy. And Jesus Christ alone is all three.
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus offers forgiveness, new life, and a restored relationship with God.
What must we do?
Not try to earn it, not work for it — but simply believe.
Just as Ruth trusted Boaz, we must trust completely in Jesus Christ, turning from sin and receiving Him as our Lord and Saviour. This is the greatest redemption of all.
*📖 Verse to Remember 📖*
*Ephesians 1:7*
_“In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”_
*🙏 Prayer 🙏*
Our gracious heavenly Father,
We thank Thee for the beautiful picture of redemption seen in Boaz, and for the greater redemption given through Thy Son, Jesus Christ. We praise Thee for the great love shown on the cross, where He gave His life for our salvation. Help us to trust in Thee, to walk in the joy of forgiveness, and to live each day in gratitude.
In Jesus Christ’s name we pray, Amen.
