★ Unstained in a corrupted world: Lessons from the life of Noah
Genesis 6
5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.
7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have just made them.”
8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
9 This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.
13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.
14 So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.

22 Noah did everything just as God commanded him.
We all know that the world we live in is filled with darkness and evil. Living in this world while remaining separated from its values can be a challenge, but it's certainly not impossible, as we can see from the life of Noah and his family. Despite dwelling in a wicked world among unrighteous people, Noah stood out as a righteous and blameless man. He walked faithfully with God, and consequently, found favor in His eyes.
It's crucial to note that without walking with the Lord, we won't shine as lights in this world. Without the Lord Jesus Christ in us, the true light that came into this dark world, we can't illuminate the path for others.
We also read that Noah did everything just as God had commanded. Even though Noah had never seen or heard of rain before, he faithfully constructed an ark based on divine instructions. He stayed focused even when the people around him mocked him. And hence he and his family was saved.
May God help us to have such faith and complete obedience.
Take away:
¶ We are in this world but not of this world. As children of God, we should be blameless and pure.
¶ We should do everything just as God commands even if it is beyond our understanding. We should obey Him completely.
📖 Verses for the day 📖
Philippians 2:14-15
14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing,
15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.
Deuteronomy 5:32–33
You shall be careful therefore to do as the LORD your God has commanded you. You shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. You shall walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess.
