Psalm 40: 1, 2, 4
¹ I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.
² He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
⁴ Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.
Are you finding yourself trapped in the miry clay? If you're facing life situations that resemble a sticky quagmire, I hope this message brings you hope and encouragement. The more we struggle to escape these boggy circumstances, the deeper we seem to sink. The harder you push against the mire, the further it pulls you in.
We cannot break free without external assistance. Like David, we should trust in the Lord and patiently wait for His intervention.
No matter what challenges you're currently facing, it's crucial not to rely on your own understanding but to trust in Him who can deliver you.
As humans, we are all in a way stuck in the miry clay, entangled in the bog of sin. There's no way for us to escape it on our own. Good deeds, visits to holy places, attending church every Sunday, participating in Bible studies, and so on cannot save us from our sins.
However, God has provided a way. He sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. Whoever believes in Him will be saved.
Takeaway:
¶ Trust in the Lord and rely on Him alone for deliverance.
¶ Salvation is not by works but by faith.
📖 Verse for the Day 📖
Proverbs 3: 5-7
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: Fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Ephesians 2: 8,9
For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
