*_“Boaz: A Man of Godly Character”_*

(Ruth 2–4)

In the book of Ruth, Boaz stands out as a great example of a man with godly character.

From his greeting to his workers — “The Lord be with you” — we see a man who brought God into his daily dealings.

Boaz was kind and compassionate. He noticed Ruth, and though she was a stranger and widow, he spoke to her with warmth and respect. He comforted and encouraged her by saying, “The Lord recompense thy work.” He ensured her safety, provided for her needs, and treated her with dignity.

He was generous — giving her extra grain and even sending her home with six measures of barley. His heart was not just open to God, but also to people.

Boaz was also righteous. When it came to redeeming Ruth, he followed the right process, giving the nearer kinsman his rightful opportunity. He was diligent and determined to finish what he began.

In Boaz, we see kindness, righteousness, generosity, and faithfulness in action - the virtues that God desires in us today.

Let us, therefore, learn from Boaz and live a godly life that brings glory to the Lord.

Gracious heavenly Father,

We thank Thee for the example of Boaz, who lived with kindness, humility, and righteousness. Help us to walk uprightly, to love mercy, and to act justly in all we do. May our lives bring honour to Thy name and reflect Thy goodness to others.

In Jesus Christ’s name, we pray, Amen.
